EN

Two new European Community legal acts: Regulation 1107/2009 concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market and repealing Council Directives 79/117/EEC and 91/414/EEC and the Directive 2009/128/EC establishing a framework for Community action to achieve the sustainable use of pesticides were analyzed. The expected influence on daily farmers’ routine was considered. The results of implementing the legal acts are possible to predict only partially, since detailed requirements regarding some of the resolutions are to be defined in the following years. On the basis of the present text we may assume that implementing of the Directive 2009/128 will need the additional effort from authorities and scientific units, but not from farmers. The Regulation 1107/2009 will however influence the farmers soon. The most important changes will be: – obligatory integrated plant protection, – quicker access to the plant protection products containing the new active substances, – improved access to the seeds treated with plant protection products, – improved access to the plant protection products used in organic farming, – improved access to the plant protection products used in minor crops, – withdrawal of unknown number of products regarded as endocrine disruptors in future, – withdrawal of some safeners and synergetics.
