During the research in years 1994—2001, in Silesia (South-Western Poland), 613 nests of 8 species of birds were collected. In 145 of these nests, 34 species of beetles were found. The richest in beetle species (24) were tit (Parus sp.) nests. The most numerous species was Stegobium paniceum (Anobiidae) — 894 specimens were found, comprising 67.4% of all beetles collected. Nidicolous species constitute 23.8% (8 species) of all beetles inhabiting nests. Also the synanthropic species were common - 32.2 % (11 species).
