Skrobię ziemniaczaną o wilgotności 25% poddano ekstruzji w jednoślimakowym ekstruderze laboratoryjnym w temperaturze 60-70-80°C w celu wytworzenia nośnika do immobilizacji komórek drożdżowych.

The potato starch of about 25% moisture was subjected to extrusion in a single screw laboratory extruder at the temperature of 60-70-80°C in order to produce a carrier for theimmobilization of yeast cells. The obtained carrier was introduced to yeast slurry for 48 h, then washed with distilled water, and subject to pilotage ethanol fermentation. During fermentation the carrier was taken for property determining every second day. The dissolubility in water of the carrier, its water holding capacity and mechanical properties were measured. Concentration of glucose and ethanol in the fermentation medium was also determined. It was stated on the basis of the conducted investigations that the carrier was characterized by low dissolubility and good mechanical properties and that it is possible to use the extruded starch as the carrier for the immobilization of microorganisms.
