W pracy badano wpływ różnych stężeń Na2MoO4∙2H2O na zawartość barwników chlorofilowych w siewkach kukurydzy oraz na ich wzrost. Doświadczenia prowadzono na 9-dniowych siewkach kukurydzy hodowanych na pożywce Hoaglanda oraz na pożywkach zawierających dodatkowo Na2MoO4∙2H2O w stężeniach 10-3 mol∙dm3 - 10-7 mol∙dm3, który to związek podawano roślinom 96 godzin przed analizą chemiczną, pH roztworu wynosiło 6,5. Rośliny hodowano początkowo przez cztery dni w cieplarce ciemniowej w temperaturze 27°C, potem w szklarni przy 12-godzinnym dniu i nocy w temperaturze 21°C. Zawartość barwników chlorofilowych w liściach mierzono spektrofotometrycznie. Kumulację pierwiastków w tkankach liści badano przy zastosowaniu metody atomowej spektrometrii emisyjnej (ICP-OES). Długość siewek mierzono planimetrycznie. Uzyskane w pracy wyniki badań wskazują na to, że molibden stymuluje syntezę chlorofilu a i b w liściach Zea mays L. oraz, że indukuje wzrost siewek kukurydzy, w zakresie badanych stężeń.

In the work the relationship between the accumulation of molybdenum and the content of chlorophyll a and b in the leaves of Zea mays L. plants was studied. The effect of molybdenum on the growth reaction of plants was investigated as well. The experiments were carried out on 9-day old maize plants grown on the Hoagland’s medium. Seeds of maize were cultivated for four days in the darkness at 27°C on the moist filter paper. Than the individual seedlings were transferred into the aerated solution containing the macro- and microelements, and next cultivated in a green house for 12 hours in light and 12 hours in darkness at 21°C. The seedlings were exposed to the solution containing Na2MoO4∙2H2O at concentration of 10-3 mol∙dm3 - 10-7 mol∙dm3 about 96 hours before chemical analysis, pH of the medium was 6,5. The accumulation of molybdenum in the seedlings of maize was measured by emission spectroscopy using the spectrometer with excitation by argon inductively coupled plasma technique (ICP-OES). The amount of chlorophyll pigments was determined by the spectrophotometer. The length of seedlings was measured using the planimetric method. The results presented in this work indicate the relationship between the uptake and accumulation of molybdenum in the leaves of maize plants and the presence of Na2MoO4∙2H2O in the external medium of growing plants. The study shows that the content of chlorophyll a and b in the maize leaves depends on the concentration of molybdenum in the medium and leaves of seedlings. In the work the interrelations between the growth of plants and concentration of Na2Mo04∙2H20 in the medium was also showed.
