Podmiotami badań były dwie spółdzielnie mleczarskie, usytuowane obok siebie w jednym województwie, w latach 2004-2006. Badane mleczarnie różniły się między sobą zdecydowanie odmiennymi kanałami dystrybucji swoich produktów mleczarskich. Kondycja ekonomiczna mleczarni II, która korzystała wyłącznie z własnych hurtowni i sklepów firmowych wyrażona w postaci 11-tu wskaźników ekonomiczno-finansowych była średnio zdecydowanie wyższa (korzystniejsza) odpowiednio we wszystkich analizowanych przypadkach w porównaniu do mleczarni I, korzystającej ze zróżnicowanych kanałów dystrybucji, w tym ze znaczącym udziałem super- i hipermarketów.

This paper identifies and examines two dairies situated close to each other in one region within 2004-2006. Survey concerns products distribution channels of above mentioned dairies as well as the factors deciding upon choosing those channels and also economic conditions expressed in earning capacity, productivity, turnovers, financial liquidity and indebtedness level. Surveyed dairies varied with different distribution channels of dairy products. First dairy used differentiated distribution channels including modern ones (super and hyper markets). The contribution of sold products value through modern channels increased in surveyed period from 7,0% to 14,1%. But as far as the contribution of sold products value through firm's shops and wholesalers concerned, it decreased from 21,8% to 19,2%. Second dairy sold products only through own wholesalers and firm's shops. The economic condition of second dairy expressed in 11 economic-financial ratios was average higher (better) respectively in all analyzed cases comparing to first dairy.
