On the basis of data from the literature and of his own and his co-workers' experience the author discussed the value of the immunobiological tests. The highest are valued the microprecipitation test (after Roth) and the flocculation test after Suessenguth and Kline). In the first test the author suggestes a modification as to preserving the sera investigated, and even the live larvae, in disinfectants (5% ac. carbolicum, 1% ac. boricum or chloroformium). Infected persons were examined as well as swine, sheep and rabbits. According to the author's opinion the flocculation test is the best one for diagnosis of trichinellosis in swine. The microprecipitaion test and complement fiixation test are technically difficult in work on a large scale, and the macroprecipitation test is insufficiently speciffic. The intradermal test with antigen 1 : 10000 may also be applied but the positive results must be adiditionally confirmed by the flooculation or microprecipitation tests, which are more sipecific and sensitive.
