The paper presents new records of two representatives of the family Scoliidae in the Sandomierz Basin, where they have been rarely listed so far. The wasps were most often recorded during targeted searches for insects feeding on flowers. Most of the records were documented photo- graphically, and some through a collection as voucher specimens. The observations were carried out in six mesoregions of the Sandomierz Basin. Scolia hirta Schrank, 1781 was found on 33 new sites within 13 UTM squares, and observations of Scolia sexmaculata Müller, 1766 come from 8 new sites within 6 UTM squares. S. hirta was observed mostly within forest complexes (roadsides, clearings, mid-forest meadows). S. sexmaculata was most common on sandy grasslands in the forest ecotone zone. Noteworthy are the frequent records of both Scolia species on goldenrod flowers Solidago spp.: 17 localities of S. hirta and 4 of S. sexmaculata. The observations presented in this study indicate a significant spread of S. hirta in the studied area.
