The article describes a part of survey carried out under the research titled „The Tourism vs. Sustainable Development of Small Towns” being implemented by the Institute of Spatial Management and Housing, Warsaw. The survey was carried out in four small towns (Sieraków, Wolsztyn, Pułtusk, Warka) in the summer 2011. The results formed the grounds for appraising small towns in terms of their tourist values, development of tourism, and accessibility. In addition, we measured the satisfaction of tourism in small towns, being one of the indicators applied by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for appraising the sustainable development of tourism. The declared level of satisfaction of tourism in all four towns was high, which was proved by the big percentage of those who visited small towns once again. In general, respondents better appraised the towns from the Wielkopolskie province (Sieraków, Wolsztyn) than those from the Mazowieckie province (Pułtusk, Warka).
