The income situation of the Polish population strongly varies. There is evidence that income situation of individual farmers worsened seriously over the past years. In spite of this difficult condition, farmers have succeeded in maintaining their attitude towards economic activity. On the contrary, the structure of expenditures by other groups of population shows a certain pro-consumption propensities. The highest level of income was observed in households of employees in non-manual labour positions, of self-employed and in households of retirees and pensioners. Retired people reveal the highest expectation in their income rise.
