The present studies have been undertaken to determine the correlation between different characters lines and hybrids and the effect on water losing by the grain. For this purpose, 13 inbred lines, 7 dent and 6 flint, varying from early to mid-late maturity, obtained from different sources were selected. The results obtained on the basis of diallel analysis discuseed in reference to correlation between water losing by grain during period 65-85 days after mid-silking and the particular characters which were studed. There was no effect of tasseling date on water losing by grain. A highly significant positive correlation was found bet - ween husk leaves senescence and water losing by grain. Early husk leaves senescence reduced water losing by grain, and late husk leaves senescence increased it. Highly significant negative effect was found between water losing by grain and the thinkness of pericarp at the germinal side. Thinner pericarp at the germinal side was associated with high water loss by grain. No significant correlation was found between water losing by grain and the pericarp thickness at abgerminal side.

Целью соответствующих исследований было определение корреляции между отдельными признаками гибридов и линий и их влияние на процесс водоотдачи зерном. Для исследований были выбранны 13 инбредных линий: 7 зубовидных и 6 стеклянистых, разняцихся продолжительностью периода роста и происхождением из разных источников. Результаты представлены как корреляции между убытками воды в зерне в период 65-85 дней с момента появления метелок и отдельными исследуемыми признаками. Коэффициент корреляции показал отсутствие существенного влияния срока появления и цветения метелок на водоотдачу зерном кукурузы. Раннее засыхание обверток початка приводит к снижению интеисивности потерь воды в зерне.
