Renewable energy sources such as biomass from short rotation willow are an excellent alternative to fossil fuel. However, there is no chemical pests control program for bioenergy willow in Poland. Therefore, aphidophagous insects such as ladybirds may be an important factor in controlling herbivorous insects. The studies on ladybird population on short rotation willow were carried out in Winna Góra in 2008–2010. The results of performed studies revealed that the population of ladybirds was stable and its biodiversity index was medium. Among the most frequently occurring species dominated ladybird native species.
