Shoots of pea cv. ‘Cukrowy Iłówiecki’ were studied after 3-weeks hydroponieal culturing. There were applied four aluminium levels: 0, 3, 6, 27 mg Al/dm³ of medium Shoot height, stem diameter, leaf surface area and their tissues were compared. The light as well as scanning electron microscopies were applied. The aluminium stress (27 mg Al/dm³) caused the significant decrease of stem height and diameter as well as leaf surface area reduction. There was also observed the reduction of cell size within some tissues and enlargement of their walls. Anomalies in epidermis cells arrangement and increase of wax coating on their surface were also noted.
