Yateina i cubebina wykazały wysoką aktywność przeciwko owadom testowym.

Seven compounds derived from the llgnans of dibenzylbutyrolaotone type were tested for their feeding deterrent activity against three storage pestst Sitophilus granarius L., Tribolium confusum Duv., and Trogoderma granarium Ev. Yatein and oubebin were isolated from plant sources and the others ones were prepared from yatein and cubebin by simple ohemioal transformations. The strongest antifeeding activity has been observed at the natural llgnanst yatein, oubebin and hinokinin, here prepared by oxidation of oubebin. Two monomerio natural phenylpropanoids, latifolon and demethyl-latifolon were tested together with the lignans. Their activity was of comparatively lower value.
