Agroplastiki stosowane są w rolnictwie, a szczególnie w ogrodnictwie, pod formą tzw. plastikultury - ściółek, różnych form osłon dla roślin, doniczek do rozsad, sznurków i innych materiałów pomocnych w uprawie i w systemach nawadniania. Mają one niewielki udział w globalnej produkcji materiałów polimerowych, ale pozostawiają po sobie bardzo dużo odpadów. Ich recykling został kompleksowo wdrożony tylko w niektórych krajach Europy i ciągle pozostawia nierozwiązaną kwestię zagospodarowania odpadów, szczególnie w Chinach, kraju o największej produkcji i zastosowaniu tych materiałów w rolnictwie. Rozwiązaniem zanieczyszczenia środowiska jest wprowadzanie na dużą skalę do praktyki rolniczej materiałów biodegradowalnych. Do osiągnięcia w przyszłości tego celu jest potrzebny jednoznaczny system klasyfikacji degradowalnych materiałów polimerowych i ich oceny.

Agroplastics used in agriculture, especially in horticulture as a plasticulture system - as a mulches, different forms of plant covers, pots for transplants, wires and other materials helpful in plant cultivation and irrigation systems. They create not large allotment in the global scale of plastics production but leave much westes after usage. The recycling of them was involved only in some of countries and didn't solve the global problem especially in China where the production and application is the biggest in the world. The positive solution of this problem is propagation and implementation of biodegradable plastics in the agriculture practice. For the achievment of it the clear system of clasification and assesment is needed.
