The aim studies performed in 2008–2010 was to asses the game damage caused by: Cervus elaphus L. and Capreolus capreolus L. to willow plantations in the area surrounding Koszalin. The level game damage mainly depended on the age of willow plantations (21.8%), followed by willow cultivars (13.6%) and density of bushes per one hectar (4.8%). During the first two years of plant cultivation the symptoms of grazing shoots dominated, while in the third year shoot debarking and fracturing symptoms were intensified. Cultivars with an intensive shoot growth (Ekotur, Tordis and Tora) showed a large number of shoots debarked, while in case of slow growing cultivars (Start, 1047, 1054, and Turbo) cracking and debarking of shoots didn’t exceed 7%. Game damage 25% caused decrease in the yield of willow shoots by 8.0 t/ha, namely by 22.4% of yield without damage. Cultivars 1054 and 1047 revealed the smallest decrease in the crop (1.1% and 2.8%) in case of 25% shoot damage, a bit higher – Ekotur (10.9%) and the highest (58.6%) Inger cultivar. In case of the cultivars, the yield decrease of shoots for every 25% game damage ranged from 18.7% (Tordis cultivar) to 34.5% (1047 cultivar).
