Kind and way of drawing of the furniture profiles' cross sections were described in this paper. It was shown with some examples of English and French furniture, that profiles used in furniture has strong correlation with the styles that furniture was design in. Based on the examples of Polish baroque wardrobes, cornice's shape and construction was described. Shape and construction of the profiles can be used to identify period furniture.

Opisano znaczenie, rodzaje i sposób rysowania profilów stosowanych w meblach. Na przykładzie mebli francuskich i angielskich wykazano związek profilów ze stylem i pochodzeniem mebli, a na przykładzie polskich szaf barokowych przedstawiono różnicę konstrukcji gzymsów. Stwierdzono, że konstrukcja i kształt profilów mogą być wykorzystane do identyfikacji mebli zabytkowych.
