Serratula lycopifolia (Vill.) A. Kern. is one of the most unique species in the Polish flora, known only from one location situated in the “Skorocice” reserve in the Nida Basin. This species was placed in the Polish Red Data Book of Plants, on the Red List of Plants and is strictly protected since 2004. In 2008, a new abundant location of Serratula lycopifolia was discovered on the slope of a small gypsum hill in the neighbourhood of fish ponds located east of Wiślica (square EF35 in the ATPOL grid, N 50°21´, E 20°44´, 170 m a.s.l.). The number of flowering individuals found at the new location ranged from 50 to 60, with a similar number of plants in the vegetative state. S. lycopifolia grew in the semi-natural dry grassland Thalictro-Salvietum pratensis. The area covered by the species was about 50 square meters
