The Pleszew district lies in west-central Poland in the faunistic region of the Wielkopolska-Kujawy Lowland. From 2006 to 2022, ladybird beetles (Coccinellidae) were collected there using various methods, such as sweep netting, shaking insects down from trees and shrubs, direct observation, pitfall traps and Moericke traps. In total, 941 ladybird specimens representing 53 species were collected. Two of the recorded species, Calvia quindecimguttata (FABRICIUS, 1777) and Nephus bisignatus (B OHEMAN, 1850), have not previously been reported to occur in the Wielkopolska-Kujawy Lowland. Prior to this study, N. bisignatus had only been reported twice from Poland. Some of the other species recorded in this study (Clitostethus arcuatus (ROSSI, 1794), Cynegetis impunctata (L INNAEUS, 1767), Hyperaspis concolor (SUFFRIAN, 1843), Oenopia impustulata (L INNAEUS, 1767), Rhyzobius litura (FABRICIUS, 1787), Scymnus ater K UGELANN, 1794, S. interruptus (G OEZE , 1777), S. schmidti FÜRSCH, 1958) are considered rare in Poland. Our survey raised to 68 the number of ladybird species reported from the Wielko- polska-Kujawy Lowland, which corresponds to about 90% of Coccinellidae species known to occur in Poland.
