In the 301 analysed cases, the diagnosis of trichinellosis was made on the basis of anamnestic clinical and laboratory (serologic) findings. The so-called metatrichinellosis is illustrated by a few, examples. In some persons, the symptoms (with periodical aggravations and remissions) are supposed to last more than 20 years, hence the necessity to recognize chronic forms of the disease and continue experimental and clinical studies in this direction.
