The article examines the effect of the number of farms supplying milk to dairy cooperatives on the farm profitability and financial soundness. The article uses data from 41 coops over the period of four years. The sample was divided into four groups based on the number of supplying farms in each year. Coop groups supplied by a larger number of farms achieved higher profitability. Coops with the smallest number of suppliers turned their inventory the fastest, provided credit to suppliers for the shortest time period, paid faster their short term credit obligations, but all such tendencies were not necessarily uniform. In the case of financial liquidity, debt burden and its repayment, there are no clear conclusions.
