The field experiments were carried out in 1999-2000 at the Experimental Station in Prusy near Cracow on degraded chernozem soil formed from loess. This paper presents results of field investigations on the dynamics of quantitative and qualitative composition of fungi (especially toxin-producing fungi) in the rhizosphere of winter wheat Sakwa and of spring wheat Torka. The influence of different forecrops (faba bean, buckwheat, mustard, red clover, rye-grass, ploughed straw of winter barley, winter wheat, oats) on number of fungi (especially toxin- producing fungi) was observed.
