In the years 1969—1988 there were tested 25 120 samples ef raw materials or foods of animal origin. The results have been presented in 3 tables. From the slaughter animals, which were additionally tested bacteriologically, salmonellae were isolated as follows: cattle — 1.38%, horses — 1.92%, pigs — 3.75%, sheep — 5.56%. A higher percentage of infected samples with Salmonella spp. was recorded in poultry: chickens — 17.35% and ducks — 18.65%. A considerable degree of Salmonella contamination was also found in egg products: egg pulp — 15.0% and egg powder — 24.61%. Salmonellae of the group В were usually isolated (53.3%).
