In 2020 and 2021 we investigated the species richness and relative abundance of ladybird beetles (Coccinellidae) in Suwałki Landscape Park (NE Poland). We collected ladybirds in various habitats and from various plants, mostly using sweeping net to sample herbaceous vegetation and 1 m x 1 m beating sheet to shake insects down from trees and shrubs. Some individuals were recorded based on direct observation. Each collected or observed specimen was noted and assigned to one of the three categories: (1) found on broad-leaved trees and shrubs, (2) coniferous trees and shrubs or (3) herbaceous vegetation. In total, 1928 specimens belonging to 40 species were recorded. The species most frequently collected were Subcoccinella vigintiquatuorpunctata (L.) (21.2% of all ladybirds noted), Coccinella septempunctata L. (16.6%), Coccinula quatuordecimpustulata (L.) (14.4%) and the invasive Harmonia axyridis (P ALLAS) (8.1%). This latter species clearly dominated on broad-leaved trees and shrubs (30% of the ladybirds recorded in this type of habitat), while its contribution to the ladybird assemblages was very low on conifers (0.8%) and in her baceous vegetation (0.7%). Some of the species recorded in Suwałki Landscape Park [Calvia quindecimguttata (FABRICIUS), Ceratomegilla notata (LAICHARTING), Coccinella hieroglyphica L., Nephus redtenbacheri (M ULSANT), Platynaspis luteorubra (G OEZE ), Scymnus abietis (P AYKULL), Sospita vigintiguttata (L.), Vibidia duodecimguttata (P ODA)] are relatively rare in Poland. This paper also provides first reports of some ladybird species from areas in NW Poland other than Suwałki Landscape Park: Clitostethus arcuatus (ROSSI) and Vibidia duodecimguttata from the Biebrza river valley, Scymnus ferrugatus (M OLL) and S. interruptus (G OEZE ) from Wigry National Park and S. rubromaculatus (G OEZE ) from Masurian Landscape Park.
