The authors describe the results of examination on an appearance of lice in swine at 14 industrial piggeries in Bydgoszcz district and discuss an influence of parasites on a use value of swine's skins. Confirmed intensivity and extensivity of infection in swine at industrial piggeries are low (0,19%) (Table); however, it proved that for skin's industry Haematopinus is serious problem without regard to degree of intesification. Having regard to durability of skin changes caused by lice even the small invasion causes considerable lowering of use value of skins.
