In the years from 1961-1963, 330 women with vaginal trichomonadosis were treated with the following drugs: tritheon, trichomycin, flagyl, aminitrozol and furovag. The immediate examinations were carried out 7-10 days after the treatment and the evaluation of remote results 3-6 months later. Tritheon (Ortho) was used in 30 women along with acetarsol globules. The early control examinations showed the cure percentage of 53.3%, the remote ones - of 33.3%. Aminitrozol (Polfa) was administered by oral route in women and men along with acetarsol globule; 30 couples were treated. The cure percentage established by immediate examlnation was 40%, that by remote one – 30%. Furovag (Pharmaceutical Institute) was used only topically in intravaginal globules. Among 50 women treated the remote follow-up examination showed the cure percentage of 26%. Trichomycin was applied orally and intravaginally in women of the first group with parallel treatment of men and only intravaginally in the second group: the remote follow-up examination revealed the curative effect of 42.4% in the first and of 30% in the second group. Flagyl (Specia) was administered by oral and intravaginal route in 110 women. The remote results showed the curative effect in 81.8% of cases, with topical use of the drug in 48.8%. The treatment of trichomonadosis should be concerned with both sexual partners. The greatest therapeutic effect was exhibited by flagyl: 81.8% of cures.
