A species-rich assemblage of Coleoptera was found in 2020 in a heap of grain remains in Kozłówki near Kietrz (S Poland). The heap was probably deposited 2-3 years before our observations, and was removed in 2021. Among 74 species recorded, the majority are synanthropic species, including those known as pests of stored grain products. Members of Tenebrionidae, Laemophloeidae, Endo- mychidae and Nitidulidae were the most numerous among collected beetles. Acritus komai (Histeridae) and Phacophallus pallidipennis (Staphylinidae) are recorded for the first time in Poland, together with numerous rarely collected beetles, e.g., Perigona nigriceps, Megalinus flavocinctus, Edaphus lederi, Trichiusa robustula, Holoparamecus caularum, and Omonadus bifasciatus. Some of the species, e.g., Cynaeus angustus and Stelidota geminata, have been recently introduced to Poland, but it seems that they are already abundant in numerous localities throughout the country. In comparison with data concerning beetles inhabiting a similar substrate observed ~20 years ago (M ELKE & G RZYWOCZ 2003), several similarities were found, including species composition of Histeridae, Bostrichidae, Nitidulidae, Monotomidae, Mycetophagidae, Anthicidae, Tenebrionidae, and Curculionidae. On the other hand, several potentially invasive species (Cynaeus angustus, Phacophallus pallidipennis, Stelidota geminata) were observed only in Kozłówki, showing remarkable dynamics of synanthropic fauna inhabiting this kind of a habitat.
