Since the beginning of the 90's of last century we have been observing fundamental changes involving all spheres of social and economic life in Poland connected with transformation process and the necessity of adjusting to European Economical Union requirements. One of the inseparable elements, and at the same time condition of ongoing processes, is change. The scale and dynamism of innovative activities are diverse in agriculture and companies servicing village and farmers. We have many examples of agricultural companies and enterprises, which gained effects of high world level of innovation. They intelligently use modern technical achievements introducing development in all its forms: biological, technical and organizational. To manage this way one needs to possess knowledge, which farmers in most cases lack. A state should support businesses as well as research and development sector by a proper policy, e.g. by the reduction of costs connected with conducting a business, by the development of human resources, by promoting technological parks. It should also contribute to closer ties between the industry and the research sector.
