sodontia mexicana (DE SAUSSURE, 1867) (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae), a species introduced to Europe from the American continent, was found in 2023 in central Poland, in the Masovian Lowland (Nowa Iwiczna, UTM: EC07). This is so far the northernmost locality of this species in Poland, first recorded in 2018 and previously known from the southern part of the country.
