In the last years is observed the fact that herbs and herbal products are being used increasingly in foods. Foods and food supplements containing plant constituents are intended to provide a health benefit rather than for nutritional reasons. The aim of the study was estimation the composition of the foods for particular nutritional uses and food supplements opinionated in Food and Nutrition Institute in 2000-2002 years taking into account presence and kinds of herbs. Foods for particular nutritional uses and foods supplements including plant constituents determined 15 percentage of the whole products. The composition of the products with regard to plants constituents was various. The most of the products including traditional herbs from Europe, but more often we can meet the plants from Asia and South America. In the absence of an adequate history of use many herbs from Asia and South America there are a need of the monitoring of the intake of such products, providing dates of the possible interaction between plant constituents and nutrients and drugs, and may be preparing out the positive and/or negative list of the herbs and plant constituents which may be added to the food.
