The phenomenon considered to be a kind of swarming was observed in eastern Poland in two unrelated weevil species: a dryophthorine Sphenophorus striatopunctatus, and erirhinine Notaris granulipennis. Like in many Cleoninae, both were observed to aggregate and mate in sandy areas, far from places where they could develop.
