The I set of laboratory experiment deals with effects of 106 extracts of different kinds of plants or their parts on the spore germination and hyphae morphology of certain pathogenic fungi. It was found that only extracts from Polygonum bistorta L. and Allium sativum L. were active on all organisms tested. Activity of alcohol, acetone and water extracts (brew, macerate) from Polygonum persicaria L., P. convolvulus L., P. aviculare L., P. hydropiper L., P. sachalinense F. Schmidt., P. bistorta L. was investigated in II set of the experiments. Their activity was tested by diffusion method. The extract of Polygonum bistorta rhizomes was the most effective as far as most of the tested fungal species are concerned, while considering the method of extract preparation -alcohol or acetone extracts proved to be the most affective ones.
