This paper presents the characteristics and general trends of development of Polish horticulture in 1985-1994. The part concerning the development of horticultural production describes the progress of fruit, vegetable, mushroom and ornamental plant sectors. First of all the paper gives much information regarding the Polish trade of horticultural products. The last part of this work presents the current changes in consumption of fruit and vegetable in Poland.
