Interesujących się rolnictwem ekologicznym i wypowiadających się na jego temat można podzielić na jego zdecydowanych przeciwników i zwolenników. Za lub przeciw tej formie rolnictwa przemawiają różne argumenty, a ich znaczenie zależy od funkcjonowania całego rolnictwa oraz poziomu gospodarki i zamożności społeczeństwa. W Polsce rolnictwo ekologiczne ma uzasadnienie, chociaż szanse jego rozwoju w najbliższej przyszłości są ograniczone. Przemawia za nim m.in. nadwyżka siły roboczej w rolnictwie, trudności ze zbytem żywności do państw EWG, łatwość przestawienia gospodarstw na ten rodzaj produkcji z uwagi na ich strukturę agrarną, istnienie regionów o stosunkowo małym zanieczyszczeniu.

Those interested in natural farming or commenting on it can be divided into dedicated adversaries and enthusiasts. There are various arguments for and against this kind of agricultural production, and their weight depends on the functioning of the agriculture as a whole, on the level of the economy and the wealth of society. In Poland, natural farming is reasonably practicable, although the chance of its development in the near future is limited. In its favour are a surplus of manpower in agricultural sector, the difficulty in selling food products to EC countries, the ease of shifting land uses to this type of production because of their agrarian structure, and the existence of relatively unpolluted regions.
