W pracy dokonano przeglądu piśmiennictwa dotyczącego wpływu diety na leczenie oraz przebieg wybranych jednostek chorobowych spośród chorób reumatycznych. W szczególności omówiono wpływ suplementacji wapnia w postaci diety wysokowapniowej na zapobieganie osteoporozy, zasady stosowania diety niskopurynowej w dnie moczanowej oraz wprowadzenie odpowiednio skonstruowanej diety jako metody wspomagającej konwencjonalne leczenie choroby zwyrodnieniowej stawów oraz reumatoidalnego zapalenia stawów. Zalecenia dietetyczne w osteoporozie jak i dnie moczanowej są jednymi z najważniejszych metod wspomagających leczenie, natomiast wykorzystanie diety jako metody wspomagającej leczenie choroby zwyrodnieniowej stawów oraz reumatoidalnego zapalenia stawów wymaga dalszych badań.

The aim of this study was to make a review of the literature concerning the influence of diet on the treatment and course of select rheumatoid diseases .Special attention was given to the influence of calcium supplementation in the form of high calcium diet on the prevention of osteoporosis, the rules of applying a low-purine diet in gout as well as the introduction of a properly constructed diet as a method supporting conventional treatment of hypertrophic osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Dietary recommendations both in osteoporosis and gout are one of the most essential methods supporting the treatment, while using diet as a method supporting the treatment of hypertrophic osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis requires further research.
