W doświadczalnej osteoporozie, po zastosowaniu hydrokortyzonu, w zębach siecznych szczurów oznaczono zawartość sodu po 4 i 8 tyg. trwania eksperymentu. Poziom sodu określono również w grupach zwierząt, którym wraz Z hydrokortyzonem podawano preparat wapniowy z witaminą A i D3 lub kalcytoninę. Wyniki porównano z grupą kontrolną.

The influence of experimental corticosteroid therapy on sodium content in rat teeth was examined after 4 and 8 weeks of hydrocortisone administration. Sodium level was also determined in the teeth of the animals which, in addition to hydrocortisone, received some other drugs. The resultant values were compared with the control. Reduced sodium levels were observed in the teeth of hydrocortisone-treated rats both in the 4- and 8-week group, but the reduction was statistically significant only in the animals receiving Hydrocor- tisonum hemisuccinatum for 8 weeks. Metabolic disorders occurring in corticosteroid therapy or after calcitonin administration significantly affect sodium content in rat teeth only after a relatively long period of drug administration.
