The studies conducted at WSI Berlin-Wartenberg have shown that mathematical modelling of individual phases of flight of separated components of the mixture on cascades of complex potato harvesters is impossible. Photographic and cinematographis techniques are the appropriate means of determining flight coordinates. The method of chronophotography used in the experiment has the advantage of representing the analyzed sequence of photographs on a single image produced under uniform conditions. This greatly simplifies the analysis and increases the amount of received information. Furthermore, equipment and material expenditures are relatively small.
