W latach 1983-1990 na różnych wysokościach w rejonach górskich i podgórskich województwa krośnieńskiego oceniano plenność, wczesność, odporność na choroby i wyleganie czołowych rodów owsa ze SHR Wielopole. Stwierdzono znaczny postęp w hodowli owsa na wczesność i na odporność na rdzę koronową. Wykazano przydatność rodu POB 1286 do uprawy w górach oraz. kilku rodów do dalszej hodowli odmian dla tych rejonów.

In the years 1983-1990 in the mountains Bieszczady and Low Beskide (Carpathians) and in the foothills the autor investigated the earliness, cropping potential, the resistance to diseases and lodging of strains of oats from the Station of Plant Breeding Wielopole near Nowy Sącz. The earlier forms was obtained from hybrids showing in their pedigree the cultivars Garry, Grundy, Jaycee, Thor, the strains with shortened straw inherited from the cultivars Brutus, Diadem, Pendek, Selma and the strains with high grain mass per penicle from hybrids, whose one of parents was Astor, Bordeweiss, Diamant, Flamingsstarke, Leanda, MGH, Pendek, Thor, Vigor (tab. 1, 2). In investigated list of strains a distinct improvement was found in breeding of oats against crown rust (table 1). The results allowed to indicate strains useful for further breeding of forms of oats for mountain and foothill regions.
