PL

Sposób gromadzenia informacji odgrywa decydującą rolę w wielu dziedzinach działalności człowieka. Jedną z nich jest ochrona roślinnych zasobów genowych. Bez pełnej informacji o zgromadzonych zasobach niemożliwe jest efektywne zarządzanie nimi oraz ich wykorzystanie. Wartość zasobów genowych zależy bezpośrednio od ilości oraz jakości zgromadzonych informacji na ich temat. Materiały w banku genów są wartościowe wtedy gdy towarzyszą im informacje. Bez tych ostatnich nie przedstawiają większej wartości naukowej czy hodowlanej. Podstawową funkcją systemów dokumentacji roślinnych zasobów genowych jest gromadzenie i systematyzowanie dostępnych informacji na temat kolekcjonowanych obiektów w sposób umożliwiający ich przeszukiwanie jak również łatwe ich udostępnianie. Dobrze zaprojektowane systemy dokumentacyjne powinny być zgodne z przyjętymi standardami, umożliwiającymi ich łatwą percepcję przez innych użytkowników. W niniejszym opracowaniu scharakteryzowano strukturę systemów dokumentacji roślinnych zasobów genowych oraz opisano ich główne funkcje.

The significance of information in recent world increased rapidly since the moment of ability to collecting and processing data in most effective way, according to the user's needs and possibilities. The management of information on the resources plays a crucial role in many fields of human activities. Plant genetic resources (PGR) preservation is one of them. The breeding value of the PGR closely depends on full qualitative and quantitative information on the material collected in gene bank. Correctly developed system of information on the PGR ought to gather and systematize all available data on collected plant materials as well as to enable fast searching and easy access to stored collection, in agreement with the common standards. The objective of this paper was to describe the structure of existing documentation systems on the PGR, their characteristics, classification and basic functions as well as the applied software and accessibility for potential users.
