W pracy przedstawiono obszarową zmienność występowania żelaza i manganu w krwi 10-letnich dzieci, dziewczynek i chłopców mieszkających w zasięgu oddziaływania zakładu przetwórstwa rud metali kolorowych.

Relationship between of iron and manganese was investigated in blood of 10 years-old children living in Tarnowskie Góry and Miasteczko Śląskie. The contents of Fe and Mn in blood of the children changed according to the area in relation to their fallout. The average of Fe and Mn contents described by arithmetic and geometric mean in blood of girls and boys were similar and the statistical differences were not essential. The change of Fe and Mn were placed in the range: at 412.63 µg/ g 429.07 µg/g and 2.86 µg/g-3.18 µg/g in group of boys, whilst in group of girls, respectively, from 407.58 µg/g to 423.18 µg/g and from 2.86 µg/g to 3.19 µg/g. The sex of children does not influence on content of Fe and Mn, in opposite to the place of living in relation to Plant Smelter Zinc „Miasteczko Śląskie".
