Zbadano stężenie i dystrybucję rtęci ogółem w ustroju alczyka Alle alle, gatunku wyjątkowo rzadko zalatującego na Południowe Wybrzeże Bałtyku. Rtęć oznaczono metodą zimnych par bezpłomieniowej spektroskopii absorpcji atomowej (СУ-AAS) po roztworzeniu próbek na mokro ze stężonym kwasem azotowym.

The total mercury content has been determined in tissues and organs of little auk taken dead from the fishing nets in the Gulf of Gdańsk in autumn 1993. The mean concentration of mercury in muscle, kidneys, liver and skin was 62,59,100 and 14 µg/kg wet weight and in bones and plumage was 150 and 190 µg/kg dry weight, respectively. The plumage and skeleton contributed in 25,2 and 24,1% to the whole body burden of mercury in the little auk examined, while 16,4% were from the liver, 11,0% from the breast muscles, 3,4% from the skin and 17,4% from the other tissues.
