Cereal grains instead of potatoes should be used as a main component of diet in sows. Cereals contain from 11.0 to 13.9 MJ of metabolic energy (1.0—1.3 oat units) and 75—100 g of a digestible protein. Deficit of proteins in sows on those diet can be eliminated using as additives protein feeds: soya meal, rapeseed meal „00”, fish meal, meat-and-bone meal or seeds of legumes such as pea, lupine, small beans or protein concentrates. Daily permitted quantities of common food mixtures are presented in the article. There are also included examples of full dose mixtures for piglets, fatteners and sows containing rye, rye-wheat and the own food mixtures.
