Two sandy and two silty soils located in an industrial region were used to determine the composition of a soil solution and the total content in the soil of Mn, Zn, Cu, Pb, and Cd. The percentage (%) of metals in the soil solution and the total soil content was calculated. Generally, the soil solution composition did not differ substantially from the data reported for comparable uncontaminated soils. The concentration of Zn, Cd and Pb in the soil solutions was more related to soil pH and Corg. (soil type) than to their total content in the soils. The solubility of Zn, Cd and Pb was greater in the sandy than in the silty soils.
