The aim of this research was to evaluate microbiologic quality of selected, advertised food products of animal origin meant for children. The investigation of different kinds of cottage cheeses revealed absence of Escherichia coli and coagulase-positive Staphylococcus bacteria. However, the number of coagulase-negative Staphylococcus in cheeses oscillated between 1 and 1,95 log10 cfu/g. The presence of coagulase-negative Staphylococcus was stated in 25% of investigated samples at the level not exceeding 1,48 log cfu/g. In the investigated sausages the presence of Escherichia coli was excluded. Presence of both, coagulase-positive and coagulase-negative Staphylococcus was stated in 75% of investigated samples. The population number of these bacteria oscillated from 1,3 to 1,98 log10 cfu/g in most of the samples but did not exceed 2 log10 cfu/g. The microbiologic state of researched, advertised products meant for children did not require caution. The outcome of the carried researches proves that the quality systems in the process of production function properly.
