A. awamori NRRL 3112 fungus was cultivated on the mineral Czapek's medium with starch and added malt sprouts. The glucoamylase productivity obtained under these conditions was compared with the activity level of that cultivated on the bran-maize medium. An optimal amount of malt sprouts ensuring a good activity of the strain was determined. To obtain a uniform medium, trials on replacement of malt sprouts by their water extracts prepared at the temperature of 30 and 100° C were performed.
