Porównano wyniki stężenia zjonizowanego magnezu (iMg) we krwi zdrowych ludzi uzyskane za pomocą różnych potencjometrycznych analizatorów klinicznych Dla różnych populacji ludzi wartość średnia i Mg jest pomiędzy 0,57 (±0,03) a 0.65 (±0,05) mmol/i, co stanowi od 65 do 76% stężenia całkowitego. Przedstawiono wyniki oznaczeń iMg w różnych grupach chorych: po resekcji jelita,.w ostrym zawale serca, podczas porodu w normalnej i odbiegającej od normy ciąży, podczas ataku astmy, podczas operacji przeszczepu wątroby, podczas ostrej migreny, w cukrzycy, podczas zatrucia alkoholem, po urazie głowy i podczas białaczki. We wszystkich grupach chorych, poza ostatnią poziom stężenia iMg jest znacząco obniżony, nawet, gdy stężenie całkowitego magnezu jest w granicach normy.

Results of ionized magnesium (iMg) concentration in blood of healthy objectcs obtained using different potentiometric clinical analysers are compared. For different groups of people an average iMg is from 0.57 (±0.03) to 0 65 (±0.05) mmol/1 This is from 65 to 76% of total magnesium concentration in blood. Results of iMg in different groups of diseased people are also presented: in short bowel syndrom, in acute myocardial infarct, during delivery in normal and abnormal pregnancy, during asthma attack, during liver transplantation, during acute migraine, in diabetes mellitus, in alcohol intoxication, in head trauma and in leukaemia. In all groups, except the last one, the iMg blood concentration is significantly lowered comparing healthy objects, even though total magnesium concentration is within normal range.
