Energy value and the contents of basic nutrients in daily food rations (DFR) of a sanatorium canteen serving 3 meals daily were evaluated with the use of the FOOD-3.0 software, and the female and male daily intakes were compared with the recommended values. The proportions of energy supplied by the individual meals were correct. The contribution of the energy-rich constituents to the recommended daily dietary energy intake was correct for breakfast and dinner, while it was excessive for supper. The DFR were sufficient to ensure the recommended daily intakes of proteins and carbohydrates, both for the females and males. The energy value and the content of fat and vitamin B6 were correct for the males. An excessive supply of Na, P, vitamins A and E, and an insufficient supply of K, Ca, vitamins B1 PP, C were noted both for the females and males. The DFR satisfied in over 100% the requirement of the females for energy, fat, Mg, Zn, vitamins B2, B6, and for males they satisfied only the requirement for Fe. The DFR failed to satisfy the female requirement for Fe or the male requirement for vitamin B2, Mg and Zn. The intake of cereal products, meat and meat products and fish, other fats, sugar and sweets was too high, while the intake of milk and dairy products, butter, potatoes, vegetables and fruits was too low.
