The aim of the investigations was the development of a milking system for the purpose of its use for control examinations of EEB, brucellosis and IBR using ELISA. The examinations were performed on 18 chosen farms and in 309 individual farms free of brucellosis and generally free of BLV and BHV-1. A total of 2250 milking cows from 4 voivodships in the south-west of Poland were examined. The blood was examined consecutively with by ELISA milk test for EBB by AGID and for brucellosis in the OKAP test. In the case of IBR SN was used only in the cows positive in ELISA milk test. Positive results in the diagnosis of EBB infection were more often noted in the ELISA milk test (30 and 28 cases) than in AGID test using blood sera (17 and 17 cases). Both ELISA milk test and the classic serological test used to diagnose brucellosis were negative. In the examinations for IBR, in all but one case, all positive ELISA milk test results were confirmed by the SN test with blood sera. It is worth noting the presence in all tests of significant differences in color intensity both in positive and negative samples which indicates a high sensitivity and specificity of the tests.
