First record of trypanosomes from the blood of sculpins [Cottus ricei and C.cognatus] from Lake Superior, WI, USA

During parasitological research of fishes in Lake Superior (USA) in August - September 1994, infection with trypanosomes of the blood of sculpins (Cottas ricei and C. cognatus) was recorded for the first time. The descriptions of three morphological groups of the genus Trypanosoma: T. sp. I, found in blood of C. ricei, T. sp. II and T. sp. Ill from blood of C. cognatus, have been provided.
