In 1990-1994 the economic effectiveness of integrated plant protection was examined at greenhouse cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers on a horticultural farm in the province of Opole. The outlays on plant protection were presented in the following measures: 1) usage of biologically active substance per 1 ha according to generic groups and toxicity classes, 2) real costs of plant protection. The economic effectiveness was determined on the basis of cost coverage ratio. The research showed that use integrated methods in greenhouse cultivation of cucumbers and tomatoes was advantageous in comparison to chemical methods. The advantages were, among the others: reduced usage of insecticides, decreased number of treatments per 1 cycle, increased crop yields and reduced costs of plant protection.
