The aim of the work was to study the effect of two pesticides (Decis prime 415 EC and Nurelle D 550 EC) on the phagocytic and bactericidal activity of peripheral blood neutrophils. Decis prime 415 EC (400 g chlorpyrifos and 15 g deltamethrin) and Nurelle D 550 EC (500 g chlorpyrifos and 50 g Cypermethrin) were applied at two doses to the tail skin of rats 4 h/day for 4 weeks. After the 28 days, the rats were sacrificed and blood was collected from the heart to determine the activity of the granulocytic system. Decis prime 415 EC stimulated the germicidal activity of the neutrophils, particularly at the higher dose (1000 mg/kg/day chlorpyrifos and 37.5 mg/kg/day deltamerthin). Nurelle D 550 EC increased the bactericidal activity of neutrophils after both doses (1000 mg/kg/day chlorpyrifos and 100 mg/kg/day Cypermethrin, and 200 mg/kg/day chloropyrifos and 20 mg/kg/day Cypermethrin) but the differences (vs. the control) were not statistically significant. The level of the phagocytic activity following concurrent application of both pesticides was higher than in the control, but the differences were not statistically significant.
